World premiere of Two Fisted Love - It's 2008 and Hollywood A-lister, Caroline Connors (Serena Scott Thomas), having recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, braves her descent into an uncertain future while attempting to navigate her relationships with her ultra-conservative and less than politically correct husband and her defiant and idealistic daughter in this premiere of David Sessions' dark comedy about a modern family in a state of moral crisis.

"...But if the play is not entirely successful, the production by director Aaron is more than competent, with fine performances by the entire cast, including Robert Bella as Caroline's caring but baffled doctor, Lynn Oropeza as her best friend Maggie, and Rene Rivera as Maggie's eloquently passionate business-man husband. We can feel compassion for the characters, and still be uncertain why they should concern us."

"...David Sessions' play, Two Fisted Love, is touted as a dark comedy. Mr. Sessions says it is, "...a modern drawing room comedy," which summons up expectations of Wilde or Coward. Dark it is; comedy it is not. Are there moments that could be considered humorous? Well, yes, but then there is the drunken porter scene in Macbeth, which is definitely not a comedy. I think Two Fisted Love should not be facilely pigeonholed. It has elements of tragedy as well as horror, and no small amount of emotional cruelty, along with plain bad, sometimes disgusting, behavior. It also calls to mind the work of Jacobean playwright John Webster (The Duchess of Malfi, The White Devil)."

"...Sessions has worked the surface details nicely but has not attended to the interior demands of the piece. This limits what director Jules Aaron can accomplish since, like an iceberg, a director's work is 90 percent beneath the surface. All Aaron can do here is keep the pacing up and his head down."
