Two children have disappeared. The mother is a voluptuous, sexy hostess at a strip joint, and the tough-talking detective investigating the possible kidnap or murder case plays a cat-and-mouse game with her. He is relentless and their relationship becomes an unusual and intimate dance. He pushes her and pushes her to confess that she murdered her children, but he gets more than he bargained for. It is seductive. It is provocative. Twists and turns and surprises. Sometimes sexually explicit. Takes place around 1972.

"...Skillfully helmed by Gloria Gifford, TWO SMALL BODIES regales the audience with a classic noir tale of two conflicted people searching for connection - all the while surrounded by the plaintive sounds of jazz instruments sobbing their bleak passionate notes. Kudos to Keturah Hamilton and Keith Walker, who keep the tone and atmosphere of the mystery just where you'd expect it to be in the hey-day of noir. Christian Maltez's scenic design and Raven Bowens' costumes keep you in the heart of the 1970s, while Teagan Wilson's light tech keeps black shadows around every corner."

"...Hamilton and Walker do their best, but their over-the-top renderings call into question their emotional connection. Rather than build the conflict bit by bit, Gifford has the pair start off in a heightened struggle and with incongruous ranting. The production also has a workshop feel which may explain the tenuous turns from the performers. From the moody music - a smoky rendition of "Someone to Watch Over Me" haunts the piece - to Christian Maltez's rumpled apartment set and Teagan Wilson's subdued lighting, Gifford's staging amplifies the eerie tone she has fostered for the story."
