The Vanishing Point at Highways Performance Space and Gallery

This musical, set in the Los Angeles art scene, centers around star-crossed lovers Giles and Melody and their battle with both gallery owner Marjon … and with each other. Featuring 17 original songs, Angus MacDonald's The Vanishing Point investigates the self-destructive capacity of the artist's life and the question of ownership not only of a work of art, but the artistic process itself. Angus MacDonald's Monarch Theatre Guild is dedicated to presenting original, socially relevant works in an intimate setting. MacDonald has written and composed musicals and collaborated on several musicals and musical revues. Recent productions include The Real High School Musical, In the Chips! and The Golden Fleece. Musical collaborations include STEP RIGHT UP! featuring a medicine show traveling by wagon from Denver to San Francisco in 1899. MacDonald has a BA from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, an MA in Theater from UCLA. He is a lifetime member of the Alliance of Los Angles Playwrights and a member of Dramatists Guild of America and ASCAP.
