The Pee-wee Herman Show is an all-new production featuring a hilarious stage show that reunites Pee-wee with his Playhouse Gang friends. This clever, nostalgic gem is a live multimedia extravaganza with Broadway scale production, sets, costumes and singing featuring 11 actors, 19 puppets and 7 puppeteers. Produced by Tony Award-winning producer Scott Sanders (The Color Purple, Elaine Stritch: At Liberty) and directed by OBIE Award-winning director, Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Peter and the Starcatchers) The cast features Paul Reubens as Pee-wee Herman, Lynne Marie Stewart as Miss Yvonne, Phil LaMarr as Cowboy Curtis, Jesse Garcia as Sergio, a new character, Josh Meyers as Firefighter, John Moody as Mailman Mike, John Paragon as Jambi, Drew Powell as Bear, Lance Roberts as King of Cartoons, and Lori Alan and Maceo Oliver as voices. Pee-wee's talking chair Chairry, Pterri the pterodactyl, Conky the robot, Magic Screen, and Randy, will also be on stage.

"...Yes, after all these years and a humongous sex scandal (which I know I'm not supposed to mention, but I can't help it), the figure you created has an uncanny hold on us. More for adults than children, who wouldn't get any of the ever-so-slightly salacious double-entendres (translation: dirty jokes) even if they would definitely appreciate your refusal to grow up into a boring adult."

"...One of the new additions is the character of fix-it man Sergio (Jesse Garcia). Sergio's dancing entrance into the playhouse and the banter between him and Pee-wee in fractured Spanish are highlights. Another is a brief, old film about manners that is hilarious. Some bits don't quite work as well, such as Pee-wee's introduction to online social networks and instant messaging. But such moments are brief and don't dampen the audience's enthusiasm."

"...There's a lovely moment where Pee-wee suffers the consequences of giving away a wish he's been granted - which means he has to suffer for his compassion by not getting what he wants. Life lesson' Hardly, when that consequence is gratuitously reversed. The reversal isn't the problem; it's that happy endings come out of the sky if you're just nice to people. No, they don't. The campiness and irony are just an excuse for sidestepping a real idea, or the kind of scrutiny that sharp kids' entertainments rely on."

"...It's a good time to live in Los Angeles. Only Angelenos have the rare opportunity to see a new adaptation of "The Pee-wee Herman Show" at Club Nokia through February 7th. The show, adapted for this series by Reubens, Bill Steinkeller and John Paragon, is a mish-mash of bits and characters from Pee-wee Herman's stage, film and television productions. The show never drags in spite of rehashing old bits. The nostalgia factor makes even the repetitive jokes comforting."

"...The Pee-Wee Herman Show still generates laughter; David Korins's set re-captures to perfection the little house boys and girls of all ages still remember with fondness; one may miss Kap'n Karl or Hermit Hattie, but there's a whole new generation of fans to whom such things will matter less and, besides, there's still Miss Yvonne and Mailman Mike and Jambi the Genie and Chairy. It is altogether possible that the time has come for Pee-Wee's return and his new show will move on to an even bigger and brighter future, which would, after all, be the perfect finish for the sentimental journey we have all embarked upon."
