Every inch of Iranian-American artist Susan Deyhim's body of work has one goal in mind: Inspiring change in her audience. In this show, her most ambitious work to date, that agent of change is Forough Farrokhzad, one of Iran's most influential and incendiary feminist poets and filmmakers, whose controversial work dealt in carnal and existential reality. Now Deyhim invites you on a visual, sonic and theatrical journey into the heart of that artist's prophetic vision. Featuring a Persian and Western-influenced score by Deyhim and Golden Globe-winning composer Richard Horowitz, The House is Black can be experienced at the Bram Goldsmith Theater at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.
