"...I highly recommend the World Premiere of Robbin, From the Hood, which opened last Friday at Road Theatre. It is playwright Marlow Wyatt’s creative protest to American capitalism. It’s entertaining and timely with surprising plot twists. In Wyatt’s re-imagined tale, corporate greed dominates the deceptive game of capitalism when Robbin Woods, a loud-mouthed, 17-year-old math genius “from the hood” is given the opportunity to move from street-smart kid to clever, well-dressed corporate assistant."

Our entire theatrical ecosystem is unthinkable without works such as Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House or Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart, to name but a few. "...This potent and timely world premiere by playwright Marlow Wyatt is inspired by the medieval myth about outlaw Robin Hood. The legendary figure, who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, was portrayed in a group of English ballads — described as overcoming, even killing, authority figures and wealthy landowners who took advantage of the poor and curtailed their right to hunt for food. Wyatt deftly posits a scenario in which the plight, the strivings, the rough edges and the genuine heart of the disadvantaged are exploited by an international corporation and those who profit from it."

As Robbin, daniels inhabits the anger and impatience of youth institutionally stymied from achieving their best. As Juan, Llamas displays the eagerness to succeed in a world where much that is sordid must be overlooked to thrive. Nagle as Kyle shows an obliviousness to others’ pain in his grasp for greater power at all cost."
