In this world premiere comedy, Resolving Hedda, Ibsen's characters from Hedda Gabler, who know the play insanely well after centuries of performances, try desperately to keep the play afloat. At the same time Hedda, just as desperately, tries to sabotage the plot in order to avoid her demise. The misadventures that ensue continue to raise the stakes of hilarity to a fevered pitch. And if Hedda succeeds in her quest to live, will this classic theatrical work ever be performed again?

"...Klein, the author of such previous Victory hits as "T Bone N Weasel" and "Wishing Well," delivers laughs at a steady pace. His plotting, however, could stand more rigor. Repeatedly, Hedda states a course of action only to abandon it or dismiss it with a shrug when the big moment arrives. One also might wish that the play carried more sociopolitical weight. Ibsen's Hedda is a towering example of independent-mindedness; it would be a thrill to see her grab the 21st century by the lapels and deliver a rousing statement about equality."

"...Unfortunately, under Maria Gobetti's direction, the performances are all over the place. Many performers feel shtick-y, though Coe's Eilert does good work in his limited stage time. Alexander is occasionally winning, especially in monologues, but like most of the cast, she's often over-the-top, which is especially jarring in a space as small as the Victory."

"...Alexander is a powerhouse as Hedda, although she appears to occasionally be having a hard time knowing how to differentiate her narrations to the audience with the times she's a part of the action. In general, the supporting players also do seem to be struggling to find a uniform style to solidify their journey as they give Resolving Hedda a try, but all are exceptional players I suspect have since settled into their roles more confidently."
