Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama and Tony Award for Best Play, "Proof" stars Teal Sherer, an actress with a disability. Acting from her wheelchair, Ms. Sherer utilizes her physical circumstances to add another layer of dimension to the character of Catherine (one of the most complex and multidimensional female roles for a young actress in a contemporary famous play). The play concerns Catherine, the daughter of Robert, a recently deceased mathematical genius and professor at the University of Chicago, and her struggle with mathematical genius and mental illness.
