Finding Belle returns to Santa Monica Playhouse

Santa Monica Playhouse Family Theatre Musical Matinee series announced the return of Family Theatre favorite, Finding Belle. This fun musical was brought to life in 2017 with much cheer and celebration. The perfect way for families to have an uplifting theatre outing, this Rudie-DeCarlo musical reminds us to believe in the power of imagination and relish in the chance to create our own happily-ever-afters. Finding Belle encourages us to make a difference in our world - big or small - with the help of some special fairytale friends. After having been extended during its original run in 2017, Finding Belle returns to the stage April 2nd and plays weekend afternoons through June 12th, 2022.

Cinderella, Snowhite, Little Bo Peep and even Mother Goose confront the mysteries of modern living as they try to help the jaded teen Mary-Mary discover herself, find the lost Belle, save the fairytale world, and prove that you're never too old to believe in imagination, happily-ever-afters, and most importantly, yourself. Finding Belle gives us a whole new perspective on fantasy and reality, sharing and caring, and the importance of family togetherness. Audience participation adds to the enjoyment!

Finding Belle is written and directed by the award-winning creative team of Evelyn Rudie and Chris DeCarlo, with words and music by E. Rudie, and features Zoe Echo, Tiffany Howell-Haile, Cydne Moore, Meghan Nealon, Graham Silbert and Diana Whitcomb. Production stage manager is George J. Vennes III. The production, one of sixteen original fairy tales that are part of the Santa Monica Playhouse Family Theatre Musical Matinee Series, cuts across the imaginary generation gap by providing an experience that the entire family can enjoy.

Finding Belle plays Saturdays at 2:00pm and Sundays at 12:30pm, April 2 through June 12, 2022. Admission is $12.50 for children (12 and under); $15.00 for adults. Birthday Parties, hosted by one of the gaily costumed Playhouse actors are available in conjunction with the play for every performance.
