Ghost In The Meadow

Little Fish Theatre today announced the opening of GHOST IN THE MEADOW, a spine-tingling drama by Joe Simonelli.

Two sisters flee the big city to enjoy the simple country life, not knowing that the fixer-upper they bought with their life savings is also the earthly haunt of restless and violent spirits. They soon learn the eerie past of this house, and the link to the erstwhile orphanage across the meadow, which lend credence to the increasing reality that they are witnessing life-threatening paranormal events.

The artistic and easy-going Sheila is played by Sylvia Loehndorf, while her no-nonsense older sibling, Kylie, is played by Jocelyn Christensen. John Haegele plays Julian, Kylie's boyfriend, who has journeyed from the city to visit the two for the weekend. Madeleine Drake plays the psychic they bring in to tame the spirits, while, Sherry Denton-Noonan, Alexandra Gulian and Alicia Moser round out the cast.

Every year at about this time, Little Fish Theatre produces a spooky thriller, to get the Halloween season off to a bone-chilling start. This year's offering is directed by Paul Vander Roest, who is making his Little Fish debut with GHOST IN THE MEADOW. Vander Roest was also seen in parks all over Southern California this past summer in his role as Tour Manager with sister company Shakespeare by the Sea.

GHOST IN THE MEADOW will run Fridays and Saturdays September 26 through October 25. A Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2pm on October 12, after which the creative team will be available for 10 to 15 minutes for post-show discussion with the audience.

Founded in 2002, Little Fish Theatre presents classic and contemporary plays in an intimate setting on Centre Street in downtown San Pedro. Producing eleven plays each year for a one-room 65-seat venue, Little Fish delivers the quintessential close-up theatrical experience, where audience and performers share space and sight-lines, making for eruptive laughter, highly-charged action and palpable emotion.
