Shakespeare by the Sea Tea Party

Shakespeare by the Sea (SBTS) will celebrate William Shakespeare's 447th birthday with a Garden Tea Party at MaGriffe Gallery in San Pedro on Saturday, April 23rd at 2 p.m. Celebrants will enjoy a delicious high tea and be entertained by SBTS cast members performing favorite sonnets and scenes. Everyone is invited to join in the fun with games, door prizes and the opportunity to win special one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces made by local artists, vintage treasures and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear their most fabulous tea party hat to be eligible to win two VIP Decadent Dining tickets to the Opening Toast on Saturday, June 11 (valued at $100).

The event is a fundraiser to support Shakespeare by the Sea, a non-profit organization that produces 40 admission free performances in 19 Southern California cities every summer. They are the only company in California that provides free access to professional classical theater productions. "There's nothing better than performing the classic works of Shakespeare outside all summer long," said Lisa Coffi, SBTS Producing Artistic Director. "Fundraising to underwrite the performances is just part of what has to be done to make the performances happen. And what better way to raise funds for the season than having a birthday party for Shakespeare!"
