The eighteenth installment in an ongoing series of new movement-based works by emerging choreographers, directors and ensembles, presented at Highways Performance Space and Gallery in Santa Monica. New Shoes 18 features works by Caitlin M. Heflin, Colleen Hendricks, Vannia Ibarguen Dance Arts, Katie Mcculla, Chasity Ramsey and Katelyn Sanchez. Works include The Backs of Angels, Re-Yma-gine Yma and Frolicking Gypsies, a hazy daydream of movement, live voice, music and an abundance of flowers that invites the audience to shed the binds of everyday life and release the ever-present wild soul.
