Mariology Reviews
Stage Raw- Highly Recommended
"...This is all a massive sweep of ideas, erupting from the single question of how the Virgin Mary could have birthed a child. It rolls out implications and innuendos and then asks us, the audience, to do the heavy lifting of stacking them into something coherent. This is possible. The elements are there, but the piece is as much a provocation as it is a vision."

"...This 90-minute piece is highly experimental. While I was not previously familiar with Critical Mass Performance Group, I can appreciate how the piece feels like a textbook definition of devised theatre. The exploration of the piece balances religious dogma, particularly the curse that G-d placed on the female sex, with other “truths.” For example, a woman’s job is to make men feel manly. Additionally, the children all know that the Virgin Mary remained free of original sin and that all other women need to have their “faults” corrected. Each of the girls winds up giving a “purity pledge,” ceremoniously with their fathers."
