In this debut show from Fearless Imp Entertainment, with CTB Productions, Lady Macbeth is a survivor of horrifying abuse, flipping the script and challenging us to end the cycle of violence perpetrated through toxic masculinity, often passed on from father to son. Headed by acclaimed director Heidi Powers, this bold new approach finally tells Lady Macbeth's story, or, more accurately, her tragedy.

"...The staging is excellent, very well crafted, and it serves this huge iconic story brilliantly. The cast is mesmerizing, the roles from large to small are all as strong as each other and the female roles are particularly striking, as they should be given the tone. They're played, without exception, with heart, intelligence and a kind of raw strength that steered this play throughout."

"...Weinhold's Macbeth is an affable pushover-turned-tyrant, a king not secure or comfortable in his seized role in any way. The crown is too big for him and he slowly crumbles under its weight. Weinhold handles the turn well, considering the enormity of the task. McClairian plays a stiff and stoic Lady Macbeth. Bisschop finds a good-natured, likable Banquo and Censoplano's Macduff is sympathetic and vulnerable."

"...To accomplish this new interpretation, director Heidi Powers and her company of players add interpretive dance and movement pieces between Shakespeare's existing scenes that play out this layer of the story. The problem is, with the exception of the initial sequence in which Lady M (Cyanne McClairian) is taken by Duncan (Ben Atkinson), the rest of the passages are unclear and unconnected to any action taking place in the play itself, at least from what I could see. They're also choreographed (by Heather Lynn) beyond the capabilities of the actors executing them."
