Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Reviews
Broadway World- Somewhat Recommended
"...Under Tobolowsky's direction, Forgette's blend of sitcom-y hijinks and family pathos tilts more heavily toward the laughs. The playwright may have been angling to write a more heartfelt work, but it doesn't help matters that, with the possible exception of Linda, most of the characters of PERPETUAL HELP exist here either to set the titular incident in motion, to perpetuate it or to solve it."

"...INCIDENT AT OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP is a hysterical peek at a family navigating the cultural peaks and valleys of 1973 to the best of their ability. Kudos to a cast who really "gets it" - the setting, the people, and a touchy situation or two. Directed by the talented Tobolowsky, a lady who knows how to use zingers to full advantage and keep the merry carousel rolling along, INCIDENT AT OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP tackles some sensitive issues with compassion mixed with very funny observations about life, love, and family. This is a show to tickle your funny bone - and maybe even remind you of some of your misbegotten youth."

"...Suffice it to say that unexpected plot twists just keep on coming in a play whose nostalgic '70s setting is sure to evoke memories in older audience members while instructing those born in later decades what life was like in "a time of old school analog living," more specifically in "a close knit hermetically sealed Catholic parish," aka "the ultimate nightmare.""

"...Director Ann Hearn Tobolowsky sets just the right rhythm for the piece and conducts her actors so they transition effortlessly from addressing the audience to reenacting scenes from the past. She makes skillful use of the expanse of the set, and she also establishes a pleasing comedic level for the cast, while injecting a hint of poignancy."
