"...Director Iain Sinclair, imported from Sydney for this production, is right on top of everything, adding to the sense of calm while creating a visibly adult play. Producers Jackie Diamond, Nick Hardcastle, Nate Jones and Joshua Thornburn, working as the Australian Theatre Company, have, indeed, continued their superlative work in introducing us to many of the Australian talents who now inhabit Southern California."

"...Married 60something fuddy-duddies meet a free-spirited couple of fellow retirees to life-changing effect in Dan Lee's hilarious, heartwarming World Premiere comedy Grey Nomad, the latest from L.A.'s Australian Theatre Company."

"...The bad news is that, if you don't speak Australian, you might miss a number of what - to judge by the Australians in the audience - were some of the funniest lines and references ever uttered. The good news is that it doesn't matter, as there are enough other hilarious lines for you to catch, and there's more than enough infectious good cheer in Iain Sinclair's production of Dan Lee's Grey Nomad that you can afford to miss a bunch of it and still come out smiling."

"...Costume designer Kate Bergh has done a fine job of defining the characters by the clothes they wear - especially the flashy, colorful outfits worn by Val. The scenic designer, Se Oh, however, has done a less interesting job with an empty set that consists of folding chairs that the actors carry out and then immediately carry back onstage to indicate that there has been a time change. There is also an oversized cooler filled with ice that Jim continually wheels on and off. And a background screen of solid turquoise that remains unrelentingly static throughout the play. "Grey Nomad" is directed by Iain Sinclair."

"...The ensemble delights as they humorously and wholeheartedly negotiate the uncertainty of their respective circumstances. Paterson's Jim is a lovable curmudgeon. He's a guy that's been in an oddly charming bad mood for the whole of his adult life. He's clingy and introverted and hides behind his good-natured wife. Paterson navigates the rhythm of the play well, at times spitting the text out rapid-fire, while revealing his character's inner life gradually and subtly."

"...Grey Nomad, directed by Iain Sinclair is not a perfect play. At times it's hard to understand the actors dialogue because of their accents, but it is funny and touching, and a trip worth taking, especially for the baby boomer generation.

"...No, Grey Nomad will not change the world, but it will give you a laugh from way deep down in that place when the world seemed easier to navigate than it does in 2017. And that's saying something good."

"...Lee's play is written with a very distinct Australian voice, making it a bit difficult to understand certain phrases not familiar to American ears. But no worries as the humor, just like the lifestyle, is increasingly universal, and I guarantee you will be laughing at yourself and your own relationships as reflected in the two couples at the center of the comedy."
