The soulful torch songs of Bessie Smith, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer and more fan the flames of sultry, sexy romance-gone-wrong in the Tony-nominated musical revue Blues in the Night, which tells the tragic tale of three women who get burned by the same treacherous man. L.A. theater great Sheldon Epps returns to stage his hit show in the intimate Lovelace Studio Theater at The Wallis, where you'll no doubt be stirred and shaken by more than two dozen of the greatest jazz-blues tunes ever recorded, including the title song and classics like "I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues," "Lover Man," "Am I Blue?" and more.

"...Gregory Hines originally assisted with the choreography and for the Los Angeles production it is Jeffrey Polk who adds his unique flair to Epps' sleek staging. It isn't a dancy show but the two have found a simple yet extremely effective way of physically communicating humor and innuendo. And because Epps also starts the show quietly, it leaves the piece room to grow, both in volume and emotional intensity."
