Beetlejuice Reviews
Stage Scene LA- Recommended
"...If you like your Broadway musicals wild and crazy and loud and flashy and all over the place, you'll likely not mind that Beetlejuice, now playing at Hollywood's Pantages Theatre, doesn't quite succeed in adapting the Tim Burton masterpiece for the Broadway stage."

"...Spooky season has come early to the Hollywood Pantages, where supernatural shenanigans are taking the stage. Welcome to the show about death: Beetlejuice the Musical (The Musical, The Musical...), a toe-tapping reimagining of Tim Burton's 1988 cult classic. The original story centers on Adam and Barbara Meitland, a recently deceased couple attempting to exorcise the living from their haunted home. In the musical, the cast of characters are the same in name, but the story gets a total makeover - and in this reviewer's opinion, a total upgrade."

"...Beetlejuice the Musical is simply the quintessential treat for a hot summer night, which at this point in time gratefully skips any of our world's nagging societal issues and blissfully remains free of politically pointed preaching. I left the Pantages with a grin so wide it made my face hurt."
Broadway World- Highly Recommended
"...The acclaimed and well-traveled musical of BEETLEJUICE has returned to the Hollywood Pantages for a 16-performance run through March 22 as part of its national tour. With all its visual delights on full display, the non-Equity production directed by Catie Davis (from the original direction by Alex Timbers) is a carnival of the macabre. We’re looking largely at BEETLEJUICE the movie, set to song and with a few plot tweaks. Brash, ribald, frequently raw and shamelessly sappy and containing a witty score by Eddie Perfect, it’s pretty damned irresistible."
