Abacus
631 West 2nd Street Los Angeles
Abacus focuses its own large-scale lens on the cultural phenomenon of multimedia persuasion at TED-like talks and video-enhanced evangelical events by introducing audiences to the fictional Paul Abacus, an iconic media visionary who uses just such a presentation to expound on his own wide-ranging theories. Created by award-winning media artist Lars Jan and his Early Morning Opera company, the show broadcasts giant video projections from a team of live Steadicam operators in this genre-defying production, which is also scheduled to run at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
