"...4PLAY is introduced by a Cole Porter tune, "Just One of Those Things," which will prove prophetic as the story progresses. The "stage" is the open space in which several high bar tables are set. The very large group of actors appears and disappears, sometimes simply standing and watching as others deliver their lines. 4PLAY is an experimental production which will please some and may prove overly experimental to others - particularly those who long for a seat after a day of hard work. The word is that the company may provide some bar stools in future. In the meantime, low benches dotting the walls provide some respite to aching toes - although they also make it difficult to hear and see the actors as they roam through groups of audience members - and sometimes block the view themselves."

"...If you're in the mood for a unique theatrical experience, go for 4Play, which has enjoyed successful runs in Chicago and New York. The set-up is unusual, the audience sits on bar stools at tables all around the room, sipping drinks. You feel as though you're in a cozy bar rather than in a theatre. The action moves all over the space, as directed by the triple threat Graham Brown, actor, director, playwright."

"...4Play: Sex In A Series attempts to blur the lines between theater and life (and between gay and straight), boy meets girl, boy meets boy, girl meets girl. There are enough complications to ruin a perfectly good dinner party - which it royally does. But of course, life and love go on."

"...The stage is bare except for five standing martini tables where cast members assemble and sometimes interact with audience members. Melding elements of metatheatre with a-play- within-a-play format doesn't always serve the production well, especially in the unwieldly, ponderous first act, which is strongly in need of reworking."

"...There is so much I like about this show. I like that when the scene shifts away from a set of actors, they become audience. My ears pricked and I had a glow of joy when I heard the familiar words, "I do love nothing in the world so well as you. Is not that strange'"-Much Ado About Nothing, Act 4, Scene 1. I love the complexity of it and the passion of the players."
