The Office's Rainn Wilson stars in Will Eno's critically acclaimed one-man show Thom Pain (based on nothing). A finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer Prize, this one-of-a-kind show ensnares the entire audience in a hilarious coming-of-age comedy crossed with a heart-rending drama. Wilson plays Thom, an enigmatic man searching through the wreckage of his life to uncover the remains of his childhood. Gradually, the biting humor of his rambling monologue gives way to a moving portrait of desire and lost innocence. The New York Times calls playwright Eno "Samuel Beckett for the Jon Stewart generation," and this exciting existential production proves it. It's a self-reflexive theatrical experience that somehow leaves you both filled with despair and thrilled to be alive. Obie Award winner Oliver Butler directs this "small masterpiece" (The New York Times) at the Geffen Playhouse.
