Macbeth in Rhythm

Macbeth in Rhythm

One of Shakespeare's bloodiest plays is also one of his most musical. Driven by the unyielding momentum pulsing through the play, Macbeth in Rhythm is a cascade of live rhythms, polyphonic singing and raw physicality. Six performers playing 15 characters take the audience through the cycles of violence in Macbeth and explore how unchecked ambition overwhelms the responsibility and sacrifice of leadership. Approaching Shakespeare's play primarily as a musical composition, Macbeth in Rhythm still presents a riveting narrative through the sounds and silences of Shakespeare's language.
