In this affectionate satire of '50s superstar and teen idol Elvis Presley, rock-and-roll sensation Conrad Birdie is about to go into the Army. His agent sees this as an opportunity for major publicity and arranges for the star to get a goodbye kiss from one lucky girl on the Ed Sullivan show. Conrad's arrival in the small-town home of the winning girl makes unexpected waves in the lives of its residents. Winner of the 1961 Tony Award for Best Musical, Bye Bye Birdie features such beloved songs as "Put on A Happy Face," "Spanish Rose," "The Telephone Hour," and "A Lot of Livin' To Do."
