The Vandal Reviews
Los Angeles Times- Recommended
"...What unfolds from there is somewhat eerie but also amusing and, finally, poignant. Lasting just more than 70 minutes, the play feels slight, yet its philosophy and raw humanity worm themselves deep into viewers' minds."

"...There is a twist at the end of The Vandal which, if viewed as a whodunit-type revelation, might seem like a cheap trick, a shortcut. It is however something different. Mr. Linklater's play is the reworking of a myth, the dramatization of a collective dream, and from that perspective the final twist is not only an essential element but one that also adds a layer of mystical, dreamlike frosting to our experience, enhancing its aftertaste."

"...If I've been deliberately vague in my description of The Vandal's first twenty minutes, it's with good reason. The less you know going in (and that means knowing nothing at all about the play's concluding hour), the better."
OC Register- Highly Recommended
"..."The Vandal" is the strongest production on Chance's second stage since last year's galvanizing "The Other Place." That one was must see; this one is its sequel in a "run-don't-walk" way."
Haines His Way- Recommended
"...Linklater has written a lovely little paean to loneliness and the need for human contact. It's wordy yet succinct, a quickly evolving 80 minutes with plenty of humor as well as pathos. Kari Hayter has skillfully directed her trio of actors, imbuing the staging in the intimate Fyda-Mar Stage with intimacy and heart. There is a ghostly element to The Vandal, set near and in a graveyard, but you won't scare the secret out of this writer."
