What happens when a James Bond-like spy gets sent to rehab because of his drinking, gambling, womanizing and anger issues? You get THE SPY WHO WENT INTO REHAB. It's a comedic look at how an outdated male relic who still embodies Toxic Masculinity learns to think differently, courtesy of a colorful group of Woke, self-aware recovering addicts. His journey to enlightenment gets derailed, however, when his archenemy shows up for a final confrontation.

"...Which is also funny, especially when his arch-enemy shows up and cannot fathom what Simon is even talking about now! In the end, a lovely series of plot twists spirals up the laughter and makes increasingly clear Simon really did need this therapy. He's become a better man. Not coincidentally, he's also now a better secret agent, capable of helping his fellows."

"...Director Cyndy Fujikawa (who also appears as the spy-handler “Z”) makes the best use of the store-sized stage that has to double as a rec room and any number of amorphous locations. But lighting designer Michael Franco works wonders with the few effects he brings to the piece. A note: If you’re a fan of the theme from Goldfinger, you’ll love the song rewritten by Ostrin and sung to great effect by Ava King."
