Highways Performance Space and Gallery
1651 18th Street Santa Monica

Experience Stuntdriver's debut record in an immersive, multimedia performance art installation, activated by actors, live musicians and a visceral landscape, staged -- fittingly enough -- at Santa Monica's Highways. You'll travel down The Red Road with the icy-hot leather-suited Drivers in their ongoing battle with The Influencer, and her minions, The Influenzas. The Influencer is the bionic-trusted face of a coveted online product called Nitecreme that promises to eradicate/disguise age and flaws. And you, the audience member, will play the navigator, twisting throughout this epic confrontation of Light and Dark. Accompanied by a gritty electro-industrial dance-rock soundtrack created by Kym Priess, and inspired by the likes of John Carpenter, Nine Inch Nails, Peaches and '90s rap, the interactive experience lives in a world with Janet Jackson-esque choreography, hyper-physicalized characters, and the camp aesthetics of '80/'90s music videos, with nods to Star Wars, Wizard of Oz, and haunted houses. Dress code is your choice of "All White" or "Creaturelike."
