Meet the couple every couple wants to be. Attractive and immaculately turned out, they are the perfect team. Tomorrow they will be in Stockholm, a city where, in summer, the sun shines 24/7 and sometimes it's dark all day long. Today, it's his birthday and she's going to give him all his presents, treats and surprises. Treading a fine line between tenderness and cruelty, "Stockholm" reveals a relationship unravelling. It's beautiful, but it's not pretty.

"...The West Coast Premiere of playwright Bryony Lavery's two-hander STOCKHOLM pulses with the intense acting abilities of the totally-committed Jamie Wollrab and Kimberly Alexander as the two role-playing lovers Todd and Kali. Directed by Kim Rubenstein, this role-playing starts off as fun, flirtatious and sexy; then takes an abrupt turn into a liaison wrought with suspicion, jealousy, and sadomasochism. With the exaggerated, stylized movements of everyday activities (choreographed by Stephen Buescher), STOCKHOLM plays more like a performance art piece - with words."

"...I love the scenic design by Anna Robinson - small bunches of dead flowers hanging from the lighting grid, and then an ingeniously constructed upscale kitchen in Todd's apartment. And while Jamie Wollrab is very good as Todd, the shining star is Kimberly Alexander, dazzlingly fearless as Kali. Even at moments when I had questions about the character - how does Kali make a living or live in the world? - I never questioned Ms. Alexander's commitment. Sexy one moment, terrifying the next, she is, in a role baited with traps, everything that a playwright could ask for - truly the goddess Kali, as mystifying and irresistible as otherworldly beings should be."
