"...The world of dating has certainly changed in today's online dating world where selfies are shared to identify the chatters before ever meeting. But those of us who remember being set up on a blind date by family or friends who describe the upcoming potential match as the "be all to end all," certainly understand how disappointing the first meeting can be when the sight-unseen person shows up and in no way matches the description or personality expected."

"...I'll be the first to admit that it may be impossible to create a bad production of the 1963 jewel-box musical She Loves Me. This perfect show, based on the 1937 play Parfumerie by Miklós László, is so resplendent, so charming, and so well-constructed that a 2011 gathering of literati for New York Magazine deemed it one of the best musicals ever written. This must-see, beguiling, gem of a chamber musical will leave you giddy with love, almost as if you gorged on sweet confections but magically had neither stomach ills nor toothache (it has been referred to as the "Ice Cream Musical" after a musical number made famous by original star Barbara Cook)."

"...Feuding co-workers who've no idea they're secretly in love with each other make for romantic musical comedy magic in the 1963 Broadway classic She Loves Me, Morgan-Wixson Theatre's delightful 2018-2019 season opener."

"...With Direction by Branda Lock, Choreography by Michael Marchak, and Musical Direction by Daniel Koh (who also appears in the cast) there's no better choice for their 72nd Season Opener (-and that alone is quite a remarkable record for any theater!) This 1963 Tony Award Nominee for "Best Musical" features music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick (-the same team who provided the unforgettable score for the Broadway blockbuster "Fiddler on the Roof",) while the book, adapted from the play "Parfumerie" by Hungarian playwright Miklos Laszlo, is by Joe Masteroff-himself distinguished for creating the libretto for the equally iconic musical, "Cabaret". With such a pedigree behind the scenes you know this is going to be something special-and in these days when honest "charm" seems to be in lamentably short supply, this latest production at "The Morgan-Wixson Theatre" hands it over practically by the warehouse-full, living up to all the sublime expectations and routinely even surpassing it!"
