"...RADIO GOLF is sleekly hewn in Daniels' capable hands and exceptionally stylized by the creative team with costume designer Mylette Nora, especially pulling out all the visual stops. As are the characters played by every actor in the production. There is a distinct "hanging out in the room with" feeling sitting with these people as they wage a past versus future war over the high stakes in the drama. And make no mistake, the consequences are irrevocable in every direction. But it is Alex Morris as Elder Joseph Barlow who really embodies the full force of the play and its spirit inch to inch."

"...Director Gregg T. Daniel, a Wilson aficionado, creates a production at A Noise Within which is more contemplative than it is urgent, and the actors follow suit. While still a recommended production, the first act meanders a bit, and could have been mined for more humor. This would have helped given that there is no happy-end rabbit in this plot, which is quite the point when you’re dealing with progress."

"...RADIO GOLF is seamlessly directed by Gregg T. Daniel. The excellent cast breathes life into the characters, each in his own way. Special kudos to a very lovable Joseph Barlow - brilliantly played by Alex Morris - whose wit and wisdom afford lots of chuckles. For today's audiences, and especially for audience members who are not Black, RADIO GOLF may be the most relatable of Wilson's tales."

"...A Noise Within follows the absolutely fabulous Animal Farm with August Wilson's most accessible play since Fences, the powerful, gripping, and often unexpectedly comedic Radio Golf."

"...Performances of this play take place at A Noise Within through November 13. You could not ask for any better theater than this, thanks to great acting and Gregg T. Daniel's direction, and on an elegantly creative, evocative stage set."

"...To be honest, while I would easily give the script a grade of A, the cast overall gets a B. Here we have a very tricky play, with lots of needles that need threading, and in my view not all of them were. More than once obvious moments of silence were filled with pointless action or blocking. Others were filled with very powerful reactions as the characters felt the change in their lives ripple through themselves like a knife. Never bad. Always competent. Often very good. Sometimes excellent. But...uneven."

"...There are many great things about this production. What really stands out is the cast and director Daniel’s ability to keep the show moving; the rhythm feels natural, neither rushed nor lethargic. A Noise Within is the perfect venue for this play, as the space provides just enough intimacy to capture the cultural and economic issues that are so close to these characters’ hearts."

"...Though originally too easily dismissed, Radio Golf is indeed the quintessential and a most consummate conclusion to August Wilson’s American Century Cycle, the reinforcement for what he had to say about the struggle between history and progress, especially as it applies to the African American experience."

"...In the riveting new production at A Noise Within, Christian Telesmar plays Wilks. Earlier this year, the actor showed his range at Rogue Machine; here he imbues his character with strength and authority, as well as a quick wit and a principled core that's gotten a little lost in his insider trappings."
