Macbeth Reviews
LA Splash- Highly Recommended
"...Skillfully directed by Theatricum artistic director Ellen Geer, the theater company does a splendid job of bringing Shakespeare’s tragedy to a modern audience. Every member of the large cast makes a telling contribution to the final denouement, including Banquo (Jeff Wiesen), Aaron Hendry (Macduff), Claire Simba (Lady Macduff), Franc Ross (Duncan), Hecate (Taylor Jackson Ross), and Cavin Mohrhardt (Malcolm)."

Glamgical- Highly Recommended
"...The stage, with a natural canyon ravine as its background, allows a dynamic performance. Actors enter and exit from all directions to give the audience an engaging experience. The costumes, lighting, and a touch of special effects frame this captivating story of kings, witches, good, evil, murder, and hope. Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum is a magnificent place to stage The Scottish play, a 400-year-old magical tragedy that continues to intrigue and fascinate audiences of all ages."
The Hollywood Times- Recommended
"...This production of Macbeth is a fairly standard staged version which takes few liberties with the Shakespearean text. So often in memorable performances of Macbeth, we have come to expect unusual staging in film versions, be it the samurai-retelling of the "tale of sound and fury" in Kurosawa's 1964 Throne of Blood or Roman Polanski's unflinchingly violent 1971 adaptation of Macbeth or the recent minimal almost-Brechtian rendering in Joel Coen's The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). The production at Theatricum Botanicum reflects the mission of the theatre to make the language of Shakespeare understandable and include as many willing actors as possible in its productions. To that end, it succeeds well."
