A tyrannical, self-proclaimed king marvels at his greatest triumph, a large, fork-impaled globe. In King of the Globe: Memoirs on a Skewer, a series of plays within the play reveal the cyclic nature of insatiable avarice and thirsts for power, as well as the futility of it all. To preserve his legacy for all time, the unnamed king recounts his personal tales to his servant who must record each detail precisely under the threat of being skewered and slow-roasted over the king's fire-pit. So that his memoirs will be conveyed with upmost accuracy, the king reenacts his entire journey that lead to his conquest of the globe, bringing his past to life to reaffirm that his suffering, persistence, and industriousness make him a deserving ruler. Hand-crafted masks bring the myriad of eccentric, absurd characters to life.
