Einstein! at Santa Monica Playhouse

Jack Fry's Einstein! returns to the Santa Monica Playhouse with a new set of accolades -- earlier this year, Einstein! traveled to New York City for the Stem Theater Festival, where it enjoyed a sold-out run and was the festival's highest-grossing show. In addition, it earned "Pick of the Fringe" status at the Hollywood fest. Of course, Einstein's name has become synonymous with "genius," but there's so much more to him than his world-changing theories. Set in 1914 Berlin, the solo play follows young Albert Einstein as he struggles to prove his General Theory of Relativity, while his personal life -- new fatherhood, a wife who won't agree to a divorce, failing health -- and society crumble around him due to the Great War. Told with humor and heart, Einstein! draws on the recent release of 15,000 documents and Fry's three years of research to show a side of the genius that's rarely seen. The show is recommend for ages 10 and older.
