The Broad Stage
1310 11th Street Santa Monica

"Men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses," wrote Dorothy Parker. She also wrote terrific stories and screenplays, poems and epigrams, witticisms and criticisms. She was a mordantly funny and cynical dissector of early 20th century high society and a brilliant observer of the tiny and telling details that reveal the truth about our relationships. Her stories still read like a modern, brilliant stand-up comedian taking to task men who can't understand women, and women who can't understand each other. Starting with audience suggestions, Dorothy Parker UnScripted picks up her comedic scalpel and recreates an impressionistic night of Dorothy-style scenes and observations, reminiscent of the Roaring 20's. Take a seat at The Edye at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica and join Impro Theatre in raising an imaginary martini glass to Dorothy Parker.
