"...The show would have been better served, if not outright salvaged, if director Tamara Ruppart had injected some of that energy into the rest of the proceedings. The mystery doesn't pop, it doesn't seize the audience in its clutches. There's supposed to be suspense underlying the story, but it never takes hold. Part of that may be because so much of the story is told to us versus shown to us so that it is hard to track all the characters we never meet, making it both meandering and difficult to care about."

The ensemble cast does a good job of keep the mysterious in mystery, only slowly allowing new evidence to leak into the audience’s perception. Andis Gjoni’s scenic design creates the right environment for the actors to shine. In fact, the production team does a fine job of creating just the right cocoon for a whodunit. Derek Nye Lockwood’s costumes hit the mark, as do Katelan Braymer’s lighting and Andy Evan Cohen’s sound."

While some of Marion’s storytelling gets confusing and far-fetched – LAPD can be derelict in duty, but one would think locking a crime scene door and window would be SOP – director Tamara Ruppart and her cast make it more plausible by their commitment to their roles and material, especially Freedman and Gitter."
