Yitzhak Rabin: Chronicle of an Assassination

Yitzhak Rabin: Chronicle of an Assassination

Ford Amphitheatre
2580 Cahuenga Blvd. East Hollywood

Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, the architect of the Oslo Accords, was assassinated in 1995, traumatizing a country and sending shockwaves around the world. Now acclaimed Israeli filmmaker Amos Gitai blends the words of Rabin's widow, Leah, with live music and projections as a theatrical counterpoint to his 2015 film Rabin, the Last Day. It's a sparse set: Seated at opposite ends of a table, two actresses read from Leah's memoirs, taking audiences back in time to explore the violence that led to Rabin's assassination. The piece premiered at the Festival d'Avignon last summer and now comes to the Ford Theatres directly from the acclaimed Lincoln Center Festival.
