Witness for the Prosecution Reviews
LA Splash- Recommended
"...The Group Rep has made a few intriguing changes to the original play. Sir Wilfrid Robarts' partner Mayhew was written as a male role - but has been transformed into a female role in this version (perhaps in deference to Margaret Thatcher, who began her career as an attorney). In addition, Leonard and Romaine are older than they were in past productions. Both changes have proven highly effective and added dimension to the story. It should be noted that director Aaron kept the original two intermissions in this rendering."

"...A couple of miscast lead roles undermine credibility throughout what would otherwise be a satisfactory production of Agatha Christie's Witness For The Prosecution at The Group Rep."

"...Vole's legal team consists of Sir Wilfrid Robarts, brought to life with scene-stealingly delicious perspicacity by Larry Eisenbergm and Mrs. Joan Mayhew, given an energetically optimistic turn by Michele Schultz. Aaron chose non-traditional casting in changing Mayhew from John to Joan. The resulting relationship between these two barristers is captivating and serves to further highlight the tale's occasional comedic moments."
