When a play is set in an improv class, anything can happen. Welcome to the world of Without Annette, a risky, fast-paced comedy about the lives, loves and secrets of improv comedians. Co-writers Jeff Doucette (Desperate Housewives, Scandal) and Hope Juber (It's The Housewives!, A Very Brady Musical) have created a richly drawn cast of characters who play, laugh, have affairs, uncover hidden truths and finally unite to improvise their own hilarious finale. With a cast cherry-picked from the Groundlings, Second City, the Spolin Players and Shplotz! (among others), each show is different, a unique hybrid of scripted and improv performance of the highest caliber.

"...I'll recommend WITHOUT ANNETTE to those who are fans of improvisation, if only to sit in their seats and gloat "I coulda done it better". Some of the acting is good, some of it is self-conscious. Mr. Doucette's direction is efficient and we do have the amazing Laurence Juber on guitar, which could very well be worth the price of admission."

"...But, just as like any good improv troupe, it's the strength of the whole group that makes the show work and director Jeff Doucette, who co-wrote the play with Hope Juber, has clearly done a lot of good work in rehearsal to help the large cast sparkle. The only comedy lesson it maybe misses is knowing when to leave the stage and, in the interests of less is more, cutting some running time from the overlong finale would make for an even more impactful and emotional theatre-going experience."

Each performance has a combination of scripted and improv material, and will be ever so slightly different from each other, so seeing it several times is a definite MUST SEE.
