Timepiece at City Garage Theatre

What if someone suddenly told you that you're running out of time -- and could even tell you precisely how much time you've got left? That's the conundrum at the heart of City Garage's irreverent new comedy Timepiece by playwright Charles Duncombe, writer of last year's hit Caged. A parade of absurd characters fill the stage, including Betty (who thought she had all the time in the world to fall in love) to Bebe (who wanders in to announce that time has no meaning) and Billie (who emerges from a refrigerator with ideas of her own). It all comes to a head as Superman -- yes, Superman -- holds them all hostage, demanding compassion at gunpoint. As witty as it is silly, illogical as it is poignant, Timepiece offers a view of love, life and what happens when the clock finally stops ticking.
