Written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Donald Margulies and a Tony nominee for Best Play, Time Stands Still is an unflinching examination of relationships and the media-saturated world in which we live. Margulies himself stated the purpose of the play was "to capture a sense of the way we live now, to dramatize the things that thinking, feeling, moral people are thinking about and struggle with." To do so, Margulies takes a compelling look at what happens when ordinary life is refracted through the lens of war. After barely surviving a bomb blast in Iraq, photojournalist Sarah Goodwin finds herself caught in a tug of war between her career and the quiet of domestic life. Returning home into the care of her long-time lover, James, Sarah's caught off-guard by his desire for family. With wit and intelligence, Time Stands Still follows two people with a shared passion for documenting the realities of war as they confront the prospect of a more conventional life.
