While opposites don't always attract, they can make for some excellent comedy -- at least in the case of The Odd Couple, the Neil Simon play The New York Times declared, "the most famous American comedy of the last 50 years." When slovenly sportswriter Oscar Madison takes in his neurotic neat freak friend Felix Ungar after Felix's wife throws him out, all comic hell breaks loose. The two men get into increasingly heated squabbles over the state of Oscar's apartment, and a hilarious double date with the attractive Pigeon sisters comes to an unexpected and comedic conclusion. Debuting on Broadway in 1965, the Tony Award-winning comedy inspired a movie starring Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon and a TV series starring Tony Randall and Jack Klugman. Discover why Simon's comedy is an all-time classic at the Theatre Palisades.
