The Good Doctor

The Good Doctor

Little Fish Theatre
777 Centre St San Pedro

This series of short plays is written by Tony, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize winning writer Neil Simon, and is based on short stories and other works by acclaimed playwright Anton Chekov. James Rice, long-time Little Fish Theatre Company Member, directs this evening of scenes, all of which are humorous, heartwarming, and strikingly human. A writer suffering from writer's block presents us with a series of witty tales of human eccentricity and frailty. From an overzealous dentist to the sneezing fit of a government clerk, and from an entrepreneurial tramp to a mother cheating her governess' pay, the writer speaks to the audience and shares his stories with them throughout the course of a day. The audience is taken through a number of scenes: his childhood, others with friends and family, and others from his own adult life experiences.
