The Conduct of Life

The Conduct of Life

Inner-City Arts - Rosenthal Theater
720 Kohler Street Los Angeles

From Maria Irene Fornes -- the celebrated, award-winning avant-garde playwright known for works like Fefe and Her Friends and Letters From Cuba -- comes this frightening and fragmentary examination of the power play between torturer and victim. Orlando, a military officer riddled with bitterness over his low rank, unsatisfying marriage and ungovernable sex drive, is determined to rise within his regime. This ambition finds him addicted to the dirty work of interrogation and torture, eventually abducting a young homeless girl to meet his mounting desires. Certainly not for the faint of heart, The Conduct of Life takes the stage of L.A.'s Inner-City Arts: The Rosenthal Theater.
