When Greg crashes into a midlife crisis, he decides to adopt Sylvia, an energetic stray dog. His relationship with his wife Kate suffers for the spontaneous decision, so family and friends new and old sit him down for some counseling in this romantic comedy by A.R. Gurney, the author of Love Letters. Now the long-married empty nesters have to dig their way out of an unexpected hole, in which Kate feels like she's losing Greg's affection to his new best friend.
