Straight White Men

Straight White Men

Kirk Douglas Theatre
9820 Washington Blvd. Culver City

Three adult brothers come together to celebrate Christmas with their widowed father and are surprised to find the reunion taking a more serious turn in Obie Award-winning playwright Young Jean Lee's Straight White Men. What starts off as a playful guys' night full of trash talk, pranks and takeout Chinese soon takes a detour as the men find themselves questioning how they define themselves and their places in the world. The New York Times called Lee "the most adventurous downtown playwright of her generation," and in this incisive, witty drama she continues to defy expectations by taking on the classic father-son drama, as seen through the lens of an observer.
