Based on the beloved 1992 Whoopi Goldberg film, the five-time Tony-nominated Broadway musical Sister Act tells the hilarious and uplifting tale of a '70s Vegas disco diva whose life is turned upside down when she witnesses a crime and is put into hiding in a convent. As this free-spirited soul singer shakes things up under the watchful eye of Mother Superior, teaching her fellow sisters to sing, she rediscovers her own voice in the process. Featuring original music by Tony and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast), outrageous dancing and a moving story, this Cabrillo Music Theatre production brings the spirit of the original to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
