Freud's Last Session

The Broad Stage
1310 11th Street Santa Monica

God, love, sex, and the meaning of life -- it's all there in off-Broadway hit Freud's Last Session by Mark St. Germain (The God Committee). The acclaimed show makes its west coast premiere at The Broad Stage with two powerhouse actors at the helm: Judd Hirsch (Taxi, Dear John, Numb3rs) and Tom Cavanagh (Ed, Royal Pains, Scrubs). Freud's Last Session imagines a late-in-life meeting between Dr. Sigmund Freud (Hirsch), the devoutly atheist father of psychoanalysis, and the philosophical Christian professor C.S. Lewis (Cavanagh), famed author of The Chronicles of Narnia. The tension-filled encounter takes place on the day Britain enters World War II, just weeks before the end of Freud's life. It's a provocative and witty look at the meeting of two intellectual giants who disagree adamantly on some of the most important issues in life.
