Happy Face Sad Face

Lillian Theatre
1076 Lillian Way Hollywood

In the world premiere production of the original play, Happy Face Sad Face, the same story is told from an entirely different perspective in two separate acts. In act one, a high-stakes drama ensues -- but in act two, the same story unravels in the form of a lighthearted comedy. This concept originated from playwright and veteran TV writer R.J. Colleary, who found himself uniquely divided between writing dramas and comedies in both 30 and 60-minute formats. Happy Face Sad Face is directed by Kathleen Rubin, whose directing credits include the award-winning show Did You Do Your Homework? at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and Inside Out: A One Person Show in Two Persons at the Actors Circle Theater. Whether you're in the mood to see a comedy or a drama, Colleary's Happy Face Sad Face caters to both genres in this inventive new play about storytelling.
