The Doctor's Dilemma
3352 E Foothill Blvd Pasadena
Questions about medicine have been in the news a lot the past few years. Wrestling about who to treat and how much to pay for it are powerful contemporary issues. But they're not new ones. Over a century ago, playwright George Bernard Shaw wrote his sharp and funny comedy The Doctor's Dilemma, which tackles these very same issues. A doctor must decide who to save: a kindly colleague who serves the poor, or an extremely talented but unscrupulous young artist? Shaw's play is an indictment of both the medical profession and artistic sensibility.
