The docudrama PERIPHERY is based on the February 1960 Sit-ins at the Woolworth's lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina, by four young college freshmen, which galvanized the civil rights movement in the United States. PERIPHERY is about those on the fringes of those sit-ins - who must choose between continuing the injustices of the past or moving forward toward a more just America. PERIPHERY focuses on ordinary citizens, particularly two families (one black & one white), forced to grapple with their beliefs about race and justice as they stand witness to an historic event that will forever change their lives.
