Of Mice and Men Reviews
Stage Scene LA- Highly Recommended
"...Spencer Cantrell and Gregory Crafts give riveting performances as migrant farm workers George and Lenny in Theatre Unleashed's intimate revival of John Steinbeck's classic tale of human loneliness and impossible dreams, the 20th-century classic Of Mice And Men."
The Los Angeles Post- Recommended
"...The cast is uniformly strong, with the supporting players creating individual characters which mesh to form a believable ensemble. If one can be singled out, it would be Mr. Caprita, whose Candy, like many people in our country today, is looking for somewhere to be safe, yet is determined to maintain his integrity even through his fear."
Gia on the Move- Recommended
"...Both Cantrell and Crafts do well together independently on stage and as part of the ensemble cast. Cantrell has just the right balance between anger and empathy for Lennie and a levity that keeps the story in a hard but hopeful reality. Crafts has the most difficult role to play but maneuvers with genuine unpremeditated emotional resonance."
Stage Raw- Somewhat Recommended
"...At the heart of Steinbeck's tale, of course, is Lennie and George's relationship, and the alternatively complex and simple elements, both light and dark, that undergird it - but the portrayals here, particularly Crafts', lack the requisite nuance. Other performances are spotty; the best turn is by Troisi, under Aaron Lyons' uninspiring direction."
